Some people have been asking for a list of references for the information I discuss about Pet Rescue. Here are the main ones:
1) The organization's tax reports are publicly available information. I got a pdf form for free from guidestar.com. On it you can see the names of the board members, the fact that they're all related, and that they are paying Jackie Alleman $40,000 in rent, and how much they spend on "animal care".
2) Jackie Alleman was interviewed by the EO in June 2013. This is where she states on record that Pet Rescue kills about 50% of the animals in their care; that they turn away volunteers yet also "don't have time" to exercise the dogs; they don't vaccinate most animals; and don't require spay or neutering.
3) Here is a link to the state of Oregon shelter euthanasia statistics, where you can see that the average euthanasia rate for shelters in Oregon is 13%. Far below Pet Rescue's 50%.
I try to reference all other information in each article where it's discussed, but you can visit the "Resources" page for general information about modern animal sheltering policies and statistics
